Finalmente, los avances de la ciencia permiten que situaciones impensables desde el punto de vista médico hasta hace relativamente poco, hoy se produzcan:implantaciones, bebés de probeta, bancos de semen, manipulación genética, etc. Esos cambios modifican, a su turno, las representaciones sobre la parentalidad, alteran las expectativas y lo que seestima aceptable.

Desde el punto de vista médico, los embarazos posteriores a los 40 años se consideran arriesgados. Hay más probabilidades de hipertensión y diabetes en la madre, así como mayores…
